I had a terrific childhood. I grew up in Monts-Lare, New Jersey. I went to prep school and then I went to

college in Florida. I wanted to be a tennis player, but that didn't quite pan out. I was like, oh,

but I then graduated in 76 and ended up in New York City. I worked at Morgan Stanley for four years

and then came to Washington, DC when I got married and started work at American Security Bank as a

foreign currency and short-term investment trader and loved it, but started my family and when I

had my first son, I decided I really wanted a more balanced life. So I left investment banking and
