Matthew chapter 5, verse 10, prepares us for persecution as it reveals,

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

According to Scripture, becoming a genuine Christian means becoming the

bud of the world's jokes. It means being ostracized socially and considered inappropriate to society.

But no matter what happens, nothing can take our joy from us. What are the reasons for persecution?

I have a feeling, ladies and gentlemen, that we are living in the lengthening shadows of the last day.

I believe that Jesus Christ is coming soon.

And one of the marks of the last days, and we can see it fulfilled, is the persecution

of the saints of God, the children of God.
