ADVERTS DISCLAIMER:
This podcast has ads at the start of every episode. However never in the middle of a story or at the end.
Please be assured all ad blocks have been applied to ensure no over 18 or inappropriate ads are played.
However, there may be the odd occasion where an advert slips through the net because the company submitting them submits them under a category that is not correct. This happens very rarely and I do my upmost to stop this happening.
If this happens, please email me at shortstoriesforkids@gmail.com and let me know the following information: What the ad was for? What state you live in? And what episode you heard it on and I will immediately contact Spreaker to block the ad.
I take this very seriously and I really appreciate your support and co-operation.
As creators, we want your childβs experience to be a pleasurable one. Running adverts is necessary to allow us to operate, but please do consider the premium subscription service as an alternative β itβs ad free.

| 0:00.0 | Kean was almost seven, and he loved dragons. |
| 0:09.0 | He loved dragon toys, dragon books, dragon pajamas, and even dragon-shaped chicken nuggets, |
| 0:16.0 | with extra ketchup, fire breath, of course. |
| 0:20.0 | But Kean had never actually met a real dragon. That changed |
| 0:24.8 | one Tuesday afternoon. Kean was walking home from school when he noticed something strange, |
| 0:30.9 | on top of pancake hill, which wasn't made of pancakes, sadly, just dirt and grass. A huge rocky cave had appeared overnight, |
| 0:40.7 | and from inside that cave came a sound. Uh-h-h-h-choo! Smoke puffed out of the entrance like a chimney. |
| 0:50.4 | Kean's eyes grew wide. That sounded like a dragon sneeze. |
| 0:55.2 | He crept closer. |
| 0:56.9 | Inside the cave, curled up like a giant scaly cinnamon roll, was a dragon. |
| 1:02.9 | A real dragon. |
| 1:04.6 | He was bright green with purple polka dots, wings like folded umbrellas, and the goofiest grin Kean had ever seen. |
| 1:12.9 | Uh, hi, Kean said nervously. The dragon yawned. |
| 1:18.0 | Oh, hi, my name's Dave. |
| 1:21.2 | Dave, that's not a very dragony name. |
| 1:24.8 | Yeah, well, Dave said, shrugging his enormous wings. |
| 1:28.9 | My mom liked simple names, better than being called Flamy, mscorchy pants, right? |
| 1:34.7 | Kean giggled. He had to admit, Dave the dragon was kind of funny. |
| 1:39.4 | Kean looked around the cave. There were no piles of gold, no jewels, no treasure chests, just half-eaten sandwiches, |
| 1:47.3 | juice box, and a mountain of empty marshmallow bags. Where's all your treasure? Kean asked. |
| 1:54.2 | Dave's cheeks turned pink. |
| 1:56.5 | I don't really do the treasure thing. Kean gasped. |
