understand. The Hollow Earth. The sixth president of the United States, John Quincy Adams,

was said to have one of the highest IQs of any president. This didn't stop him however,

from believing that the planet earth was a hollow sphere. Nice. He wasn't the only one.

In the early 1800s, many scientists believe that the earth was made up of quote a series

of concentric layers, each containing its own subterranean world. This world was illuminated

by a sunlight heat and a light source at the very center of the earth.

The first notable mention was by Edmund Haley in the late 1600s. This is the same guy

who has a comment named after him, so he definitely had a little bit of clout and still
