So in 2006, a man called Larry Mitchell Hopkins is arrested for felony firearm possession and impersonating an officer.

This compounded with a 1996 arrest puts Larry at three felony charges in total.

He goes by Johnny Horton, Jr., in an apparent homage to the country music artist.

Larry cares about two things, hunting people on the southern border in New Mexico,

and singing his heart out to classic tunes in a tassled leather jacket.

Train to live off nature's land.

Train in combat, and do hand.

Train to fight by night and day.

The brave men of the green beret.

The reason we're talking about Larry at all is that in February of 2018,

he forms a border militia called the United Constitutional Patreons, or UCP,

and declares himself their commander.

This country was built on three things.

God guns and guts.

That American flag has to keep flying.

It's in danger.

A lot of danger right now.

The modus operandi of UCP, strapping themselves with military gear,

covering their faces and heading out to the border to intercept migrants at gunpoint.

Members of UCP go by names like preacher, nuclear warrior, and Viper,

who is their media officer.
