G'day, humans. Welcome to the safe space for dangerous ideas. And wow, what a walk down

memory lane. Not memory, actually, Lane, but completely new thing, Lane, for most of you. And indeed, for me,

nostalgia, Lane. I haven't heard this in seven years, Lane. Uh, one of the greatest

experiences of my life to have done this, Lane. And I can't believe that I haven't had access

to listening to this up until now, Lane. Uh, I hope you're sitting down, hold onto your hats, Lane.

Back in the day, I had a show called We the People Live, which was basically, I was

living in New York City and I was thinking to myself, you know what?

I want to do like a weekly panel chat show about the news. So what I do is do

it live at a bar in Brooklyn and we'll record it and release it as a podcast. Now we the people

live subsequently ended up becoming a place for all kinds of interesting things to happen.

And, you know, I was just sort of, it became my playground where I could do one-on-one

interviews.

But the original DNA of the show was get people drunk in a bar and laugh about things.

And that version of the show became really popular.

It was great.

And today, you get a glimpse into a dingy, seedy,

smelly Brooklyn Bar in 2016. Cast your mind back. Barack Obama is the president of the United

States. They're gearing up for a presidential election,

Hillary Clinton v. Donald Trump, and Artie Lang, one of the most iconic and brilliant comedy performers in American radio. So Artie started on the Howard Stern show and became a

complete icon because of that. He's a big, fat, boisterous,
