It was a drama-filled Friday night football as Arsenal's title hopes were dealt a major blow,

despite Michel Artetta's side staging a dramatic late comeback to earn a 3-3 draw against Southampton.

The gunners were staring at a crushing defeat to the relegation

threatened Saints after goals from Carlos Alcraz and Theo Walcott and Dujet Caleta Carr left Ruben-Cellers

side minutes away from a first Premier League away victory at the Gunners. After Gabriel Martin

and his first half goal failed to spark a comeback, Captain Martin Odegaard looked to have scored a consolation two minutes from time,

but it sparked a remarkable Arsenal revival,

with Bukai Asaka firing an equaliser in the final minute.

They even had chances to win the game,

with Reese Nelson's deflected shot going inches wide,

while Leandro Trossard's shot struck the crossbar as

the gunners went close to staging another dramatic comeback. However, a third successive draw means

Arsenal will take a five-point lead with them into Wednesday's showdown with champions

Manchester City, who have two games in hand on the gunners and now hold the advantage in the

Premier League title race.

Speaking after the game, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carrig discussed Arsenal's title chances

with the former Liverpool defender saying they needed something miraculous to bring the title back to North London.

Meanwhile, Gary Neville feels Arsenal may benefit from being the underdogs at the Etihad Stadium Wednesday,

but fears they are showing the strain of a long season.
