The Last time on the show, I introduced you to the original short story

of the self-improvement of Salvador Ross by Henry Sleesar.

Now without getting too ahead of ourselves, we're all Twilight Zone fans here,

and we all have an idea of what received wisdom says are the top Twilight Zone episodes.

And I think we would all probably agree that the self-improvement of Salvador Ross isn't on many top 10 lists, or top 20 lists.

I mean, would it even break the top 50? I guess we'll get there.

But what is so satisfying about this Twilight Zone journey

is that sometimes these more middling episodes

have some of the most interesting trivia about them.

And one of the interesting pieces of trivia about this one

is that not only is there the print version that

originally appeared in the magazine of fantasy and science fiction in 1961 but

after the Twilight Zone episode was made in 1974 the writer Henry Sleesar adapted the story again for radio on the show CBS Radio

Mystery Theatre and this time he retitled it and he called it a bargain in blood

so friends take a seat with me and we'll open a bottle of Golden Delight as we listen to a bargain in blood.
