Summary

Approximately 3/4 of people don’t know about the local pregnancy resources in their communities. These resource centers are equipped to TRULY support women & families in need, but they cannot do that if nobody knows they exist. The abortion industry on the other hand has done a great job marketing to their target audience and positioning themselves within walking distances of college campuses. They are preying on these unsuspecting women all in the name of "healthcare" and "empowerment." But we know that REAL healthcare means providing life-saving care. Listen in to this week’s special guest Scott Baier, CEO of Community Pregnancy Clinics, as he shares with us his advice for how we can do a better job of bridging the gap between women in need & their free, local, and life-affirming options.

Hi everyone, it's Kristen Hawkins.

0:09.0

Welcome to this new episode of the explicitly pro-life podcast.

0:13.0

I'm actually in Naples, Florida, using the facilities at community pregnancy clinics,

0:18.0

which is one of the premier pregnancy health organizations in the country.

0:22.0

I'm here for a few weeks, doing recordings episodes.

0:25.0

So we thought it was a good idea to have Scott Beyer, who is the new CEO as of last June

0:31.6

of community pregnancy clinics to come on.

0:34.2

You all might remember last year I interviewed your predecessor, Gary Gary Engle, about the CPCI model and the success that you all have had across Florida.

0:44.2

But I wanted you to come on to kind of give us an update.

0:47.3

Scott, you know, you kind of came to the Pregnancy Center world from Army Seminary and then Catholic Education. So I think

0:56.5

it's good for folks who are listening and watching to kind of hear your background, how you

1:02.0

got to this because they kind of look at you and like, what? You're like you're super political.

1:06.5

We were like talking, we got to get into some politics here, hopefully. So you don't strike me as a typical pregnancy center director.

1:14.0

So I think it would be really great for people to hear your story before I start asking you lots of questions about what's happening at CPCI, what you see on the future for a post-Ro America for the pregnancy health movement.

1:25.8

Yeah, that's great.

1:26.9

And thank you, Kristen. You're such a prolific figure in the pro-life movement. This is quite an honor. So thank you for that. But in a nutshell, my background, you know, I started after a kind of neo-pagan existence in college, right? Young-pagan existence. Yeah, but then the Army kind of woke me up a little bit to the realities of, I'll say, evil in the world.

1:46.6

So I spent my last five months in a place called Bosnia.

1:50.9

Never had to serve in a war.

1:52.5

I'm grateful for that, but I saw the effects of war after it.

1:56.2

And, you know, one of the connections I make to the pro-life movement is, you know,

1:59.6

when you see people who are in a war-torn world, you know, the look in their eyes is trauma, it's empty, it's devastation, similar to the look in the eyes that I see in front of Planned Parenthood, when they go in, but even more so when they come out, when these women come out of Planned Parenthood, it's the same look that I saw in Bosnia. And then the seminary, you know, kind of got me woken up to, okay, what am I going to do with my life and with my mission and how does God, you know, want me to serve him? And I thought that was going to be federal level law enforcement for a while. And then until a priest said, you know, have you ever... You wouldn't be Walker, Texas Ranger.

2:36.9

There was a while. And then until a priest said, you know, have you ever...
