I recently did an episode of Birth with Baby List that I actually think makes a lot of sense

to share with the Under the Influence audience. Social media has changed pregnancy in such a

massive way since I first started having my babies.

Between picture-perfect bumps, effortless births, and endless advice, it is so easy to feel

like you're not measuring up. In fact, I started this podcast because I felt like I wasn't measuring

up when I had my second baby. B. Aster is the entire reason that 395 episodes of Under the Influence exist. Because she didn't

sleep at night, all I did was scroll Instagram at night, while I rocked her and rocked her in that

lovely glider that I'm so upset that we got rid of. I loved that thing. Anywho, because I was

being served all these picture-perfect images and because they were making

me feel so much shame and guilt and just like I was failing all the time, that was the

reason that I started this reporting.

That was the reason that I started under the influence in the first place.

And I still remember, I still remember calling up my producers at IHeartMedia and trying to explain this idea.

And they're both dudes, right?

So they're like, oh, we don't get it.
