Hey, hey, where you been, but got talk is about to begin, hey, hey, hey, come on in.

0:27.0

Welcome back to your Monday book. I talk from clue.com is NFL draft weekend. We are drafting Ohio State football players. We do this every year. We say, hey, it's like we're in war rooms.

0:38.0

You got to buzz in and get the guy before somebody else on this podcast gets the guy.

0:44.0

We'll have more draft coverage this week. Some more stories about Ohio State players. Our plan is for a full clue.com staff first round mock draft. That should be up on Tuesday that will include our browns writers, our Bengals writers, some of us are Tim Veele like our NFL draft guy, all that kind of stuff. But for now, we are drafting Ohio State players, where we think they will go.

1:07.0

And that starts with CJ Stroud. And that starts with an evolving CJ Stroud conversation. And that's draft him first. And then we can talk about this because this conversation has definitely evolved. So Doug Lamaries here with Nathan Bernstein means I will just move us through the draft order.

1:26.0

When you want to draft the guy just but say buzz. I don't know whistle. Do make a noise and then you'll get the guy.

1:34.0

But it's a prediction of where we think he will get drafted. So it is, it is a will slash what you would do, you know, I mean, we shouldn't have anyone draft in Ronnie Hickman number 16 in the first round. Just quit think Ronnie Hickman's a cool guy. But I think it can be some combination of.

1:52.0

We're not we're not not that Ronnie Hickman's not a cool guy. We're not here to pretend that we're NFL draft experts, but we are experts on the Ohio State players. We honestly are. I mean, I definitely felt this over time. And I'm sure you guys have to that NFL teams do things. And they're just moments when I'm like, well, if they just want to ask someone who covered this guy for four years or three years or whatever, I could have given them some insight to say, Hey, I think you did this too early. I think you did this too late. You know, I was telling.

2:22.0

I mean, it's the only thing I forgot. I was like, I'm screaming at teams to draft Michael Thomas. Like, what are you doing? Don't draft Corey Coleman. Don't draft, you know, these other weird like Michael Thomas is going to be legit. They just didn't throw the ball enough to him. So like that kind of thing. We know this stuff. And we know these guys sometimes I wouldn't have taken you like 10th in the draft. No offense to Eli Apple does me. He's not a first round player. And he's turned out to be, you know, he's had a long NFL career. I don't think he wound up. I don't think 10th was where he needed to go. So anyway, that kind of thing. We know these guys. So that's okay. So let's do it.

Number one, selecting number one on the NFL draft or the Carolina Panthers who have made a trade from number nine to number one, number one Carolina, number two Houston Bing.

3:07.0

Okay. Let's start this conversation. Let's start it here. Why were the three of us silent at number one for the Carolina Panthers when Nathan, there was a time.

3:19.0

And I was looking at betting odds on this. And I don't, I, you cannot, not on my apps, the ones that I have three betting apps in the state of Ohio. And I go, I sort of, I don't know if it's trolling me.

3:32.0

Two of the three betting apps that I have on my phone, they don't have anything for the NFL draft. I haven't checked in like a week. I swear, I swear I'm not lying.

3:40.0

The only player that one of the sites had listed as you could draft like bet on where he's going to be drafted with Stetson Bennett. I could not believe it.

3:47.0

Why is this the only guy in the state of Ohio you can bet on? Are you kidding me? We should at least be linked to that. It's the Buckeye Talk Stetson Bennett special or something. All these podcasts have betting deals bet on sets and better.

3:59.0

But maybe that thing we're like, now our phones are listening to us and they knew that you would only want to bet on where Stetson Bennett is going.

4:07.0

Yeah, so it's just, I'm the only person in America who could bet on where Stetson Bennett is going to be picked. So I will tell you, so they're all, there's all these things you see like talking on betting sites. Hey, the odd is like, well, I don't know, I don't know who's betting on these things.

4:20.0

On April 10th, the site that I found that was like sort of I think, you know, gathering some betting numbers on April 10th, no, on March 13th, I'll start there on March 13th according to this site.

4:33.0

CJ was minus 200 basically to be the first pick, which is heavy odds. Bryce Young was three to one. So CJ was was an odds on favorite less than even money. CJ Straub first pick, Bryce Young three to one a week ago, April 10th, they were basically even, it was like a toss up at like almost an even money toss up.

4:56.0

CJ Straub or Bryce Young to be the first pick, what you're seeing now is Bryce Young is an overwhelming minus 1000 favorite to be the first pick Nathan and CJ is like eight to one.

5:07.0

So I don't know what has changed other than NFL draft insiders, perhaps getting leaks from Carolina or from agents that, hey, the panthers have made their decision and it's Bryce Young.

5:20.0

I certainly think that reporting that analysis has affected the three of us as we sit here when I did this several, probably like a month ago now, I got to find my own story. I did an Ohio State mock draft and I had CJ first.
