Welcome back to Buckeye Talk. I'm Stephen Means, and that is Andrew Gillis, and this is your

Wednesday, Bucket Talk episode. We're talking a little bit of recruiting as the offseason is up and running for Ohio State.

The knowledge focus has shifted on to its 2027 recruiting class, which right now,

as at the time we're recording this, is the number three class in the country,

featuring nine commitments, headline by Jamir Brown and DJ Jacobs.

And as we did, as we do it every year at this point. Now, we try to do this three different times throughout the year, a projection of the recruiting class and how we think it might shape out. And I think this is going to be interesting year to do this, Gillis, coming off of a 2026 class where Ohio State brought in 28 guys coming off of a 2025 class where they brought in 25 guys and half of them are already

playing for other football teams.

But when you were trying to figure out what this could look like, how much did what maybe

we've seen the last 24 months from the last two classes maybe impact what you think Ohio

State might do in 2027?

A lot, but not in the way that you might think. Like, I don't think they're taking 28 again. I don't think that's going to happen. But I also don't think they're going to take 14. Like, I don't think that there's going to be some, I've said this before, I don't think it's smart to have a drastic overcorrection and say, well, we have to take 10 now and we just

have to throw our money at 10 high school players and then go portal shopping. Like, I don't think

that that's the right way either. So, you know, I used kind of, what's the, what's the word? I used kind of
