Hello everybody and welcome to another pulp podcast. We got a special four week series

we're kicking off here. It's loosely called the Badass quadrilogy. This is good. The movie

that kicks us off might be one of the greatest films in the Badass canon predator 1987, directed

by John McTiernan, who you will notice from just a bunch of high quality action films.

We directed the original diehard, diehard worth of vengeance, the hunt for an October, one of my

personal favorites, the last action hero, remake of the Thomas Crown affair to 13th warrior, is

written by the brothers Jim and John Thomas, who also wrote the predator to executive decision,

Wild Wild West, mission to Mars, behind enemy lines, a lot of solid action credentials there.

It stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carl Weathers, Bill Duke, Jesse Ventura, Kevin Peter Hall,

as the predator, Peter Cullen, Optimus Prime, as the predator's voice, rounding out the cast

is Elpedia Carrillo. Carrillo, I'm sorry, Carrillo, Richard Chavez, Sunny, Landham, and Shane Black,

as well as a longtime Arnold Myers might recognize Savin Ols Thorsten, who is, if you're like a

Jinx or Millennial, you might recognize him as the Silver Helmeted Gladiator and the movie Gladiator,

but he is a longtime stuntman that worked with Arnold and his in-hums all of his movies and

background roles. He's the Soviet Goon in the Rebel Camp of this movie. Anyway, this is a

commission podcast which is going to get to in a minute. It was commissioned by Epic Mouthful,

who commissioned two-thirds of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but like I said, this is kicking off

a badass series. Can you talk Jim about the concept of badass in terms of bald mood history

and what we're talking about here? So many, many years ago, back actually before bald mood started,

before we even started podcasting you and I, we're living together and we went kind of on a run

of, I think it was like a makeup tour for you where you had missed a whole bunch of these rated
