But I'm dealing with some health issues related to facial cellulitis, which isn't fun, but I'm healing.

You know, a lot of men believe that walking

with Christ is a solo op, a long ruck through life where you carry your own weight,

you fight your own battles, and hope God shows up with Overwatch when things get ugly.

I've been there.

I don't like leaning in on people because I feel like a burden.

But that's not how God designed fatherhood.

It's not how he designed your Christian walk in faith.

One of the things I thought about was how in the military, two is one.

And there is a principle called the Ranger Buddy and is very apparent in CQB where you're told never into a room by yourself.

Imagine a center-fed room that has two points of domination left and right.

If you went left and nobody was there to go right to pick up your six,

you'd be exposing your back to the threat.

So when we go up to a doorway and we don't have a number two guy, we say support.

And that's an indication, a verbal indication that you need help.

A teammate will run up behind you, squeeze your shoulder, touch your arm.

You might see his infrared laser come up on that threshold, and then you'll enter together.

One going left, one going right near simultaneously, so you could address the opposing threats in the dead space to the left and right of that center-fed doorway.

I thought about this in relationship to how we think about our walk and faith, but also how you should be as a father.
