used a powerful telescope to create the most detailed photographic survey of the sky that had ever

been made. And when these photographs were digitized decades later, researchers found something

strange. In many of the images, there were tiny points

of light that appeared like stars, but they only showed up on a single plate. Some of these

flashes even appeared in clusters of three or nine or more, with some even lined up in a narrow band. And these photographs were taken
