We are just drawing it all together. We've had some great speakers that have agreed to come and

talk to us and we have got some absolutely fantastic snippets of what they had to talk about.

So we've got topics on high-performing teams, lessons from the battlefield,

mountain medicine and hypothermia, diving emergencies, obstetric emergencies,

and the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care Gibson Lecture as well.

So first up for us today is Tom Evans, who is an emergency medicine, FEM consultant, who

not only does that but also finds time to coach elite British rowers.

He gave us a fascinating talk explaining how he believes high

performance sports can influence medicine in the future and it challenged us all to think about

how we can perform at the highest level throughout our practice. So today I was sharing some of the

things that we have learned at London's Air Ambulance through our relationship with UK sport and with

some of the other elite sports organisations in the UK, and also reflecting a bit on my time

working as a coach with the British rowing team.

And what we're really curious about is what are the characteristics which discriminate

people who are going to successfully and consistently perform under pressure
