My colleague and co-host joins me, and we speak with Captain Jim Finnell, U.S. Navy retired,

who can help us understand the reports that we get out of the India-Pakistan conflict over Kashmir, over really decades of ill-feeling

between the two very powerful militaries.

Pakistan's military is said to not be as large as India's, but Pakistan has a neighbor

that over the years has assumed keeping the Pakistani

Air Force and Army up to date in weapon systems, especially now. That would be the People's

Republic of China. So we go to Jim to help us understand a report in London published this morning

of a Chinese air-to-air missile, I believe.

I'll be very careful about technical language because it's not comfortable for me.

There is the remains of a missile with a serial number on it, and is pointed to as evidence of

China's armament.

What is that?

What do we learn from this and what are we looking for in this conflict so far limited to air to air, air to ground, and some artillery

fire reported. Good evening to you. Good evening, John and Gordon. Well, the events from early morning on Wednesday, the 7th of May indicate that the

Pakistani Air Force did engage Indian Air Force aircraft with what is called a beyond visual range air-to-air missile.

And in this case, it looks to be the PL-15, which is a PRC-produced missile that has an estimated

range of 250 kilometers, 135 nautical miles for the Chinese.

The export variant is much shorter than that,

145 kilometers or about 90 nautical miles. And in this case, the Chinese or the Pakistanis are
