Summary

Having an inaccurate view of who we are to God is one of the enemy’s greatest weapons for keeping us discouraged, defeated, and ineffective for Kingdom purposes.

Today we’re praying for our kids to have the heart knowledge (not just head knowledge) of who they are in Christ. We’re praying they understand at the deepest levels how they were designed perfectly in the image of God and nothing can change his great love for him.

Join me in praying Psalm 139 over our kids and ask the Lord to shelter our families from anyone and anything that calls our value and significance into question.

Can’t wait to pray with you!

P.S. We would be so grateful if you’d consider sharing Pardon the Mess with a friend. Encourage those you know and love to join us in praying each week by forwarding this email or sending a link to the show. Thank you!

Hey guys, welcome to part of the mess, Cynthia. I am so glad you were with us. We are winding it down the last two weeks of our prayer journal, and I'm so thrilled that

0:24.0

you're here.

0:24.9

And whether you've made it the whole year or you're just kind of in and out, I get it.

0:28.1

But thankfully, today's a good one to be here for it because we are praying identity over

0:32.3

our kids.

0:32.8

The key to our identity, and my goodness, this is a big one. And so it's Psalm 139 that will be focused on,

0:38.9

but the key verses are 13 and 14, for you created my inmost being. You knit me together

0:44.1

in my mother's womb. I praise you because I'm fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are

0:48.9

wonderful. I know that full well. And so as I've been thinking about this whole idea of identity, I'm like,

0:56.1

what, what Lord would you have me to say that's different or impactful? I feel like we speak

1:01.0

into identity almost every single week, even though that's not specifically what we're praying

1:05.3

over. Identity is at the core and the crux of everything we believe and do. And so it hit me, maybe there is nothing

1:13.4

new to be said, right? Like maybe all that we need to know is in there. It's just that disconnect

1:19.7

between our head knowledge and our heart knowledge. It gets us in trouble. Our head knows the

1:23.8

information. Our heart has a hard time processing it. We have a hard time living by what we

1:29.5

know to be true. I think about dieting. You know, if we want to lose weight, we don't necessarily

1:35.9

need to go to someone to explain the ins and outs of how you lose weight. Like, I think we're

1:40.0

pretty familiar that if you eat healthier foods and you exert more energy, you will lose weight,

1:46.1

right? Unless there's some medical condition, but just generally speaking, you will lose weight.

1:50.9

And so if you go to a dietitian or someone, most likely they're not going to give you

1:55.4

information you'd never heard before. Like, it's just going to blow you away. You'd never
