Hey guys, welcome to pardon the mess.

I'm glad you are with us today.

It's Cynthia, and this is the first Monday in December. Let me be the first

to say good job to you. And your parenting today, I may be the only person that tells you all day,

good job. So relish in the moment, people. But yes, it is December. And if you are listening to

this podcast, which you are, good job. Because it's so easy to let things slide in December.

I'm trying so hard to be intentional

this December and have these moments of solitude, these moments of prayer, and these moments of

slowing down, keeping things simple. Because every year, I think the things that are most significant

end up sliding because I'm trying to do things that don't have lasting value. And so thanks for

being here today because these are the things

of lasting value, praying for our kids. So good job. Glad you're here. And so we are Psalm 112. That's where we

are landing this week. It's the key to fearing God. Let me read you the verses and they'll make more sense

in just a minute. But Psalm 112 versus 6 or 7, surely the righteous will never be shaken.

They will be remembered forever. They will have no fear of bad news. Their hearts are steadfast,

trusting in the Lord. And last week, you'll remember we did Psalm 111. And it talked about how

the key to wisdom is fearing God. So we had Janet Denison on, go back and listen if you missed it.

But she had a good word on why we pray for our kids to have wisdom versus just knowledge.

And I think we all know this, that we're in a culture where knowledge is king and people are driven towards more and more knowledge.

And so we have, you know, everything in our fingertips, and our phones and our iPads, and our computers and Google searches, even higher education is more readily available.
