Well, I invite you to open your Bibles to Romans chapter 8.

We've talked about living in the power of the spirit and preaching in the power of the spirit and this session is supposed to be about

0:17.2

praying in the power of the spirit and as I reflected some weeks ago on how might approach this, I'm so convinced that once you catch the basic meaning of Galatians 3-5, does he who supplies the spirit

0:40.8

to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law or by hearing

0:47.6

with faith?

0:48.6

And the answer being yes, hearing with faith. he supplies the spirit to you and works miraculously among

0:56.3

you, then you know how to apply that across the board, whether it's eating, drinking, preaching, or praying.

1:06.7

So I thought, what should I really tackle?

1:12.7

And I would like to tackle with you the text that to me is probably the strangest

verse 26 which addresses the issue I'm going to talk about begins with

1:56.0

likewise and we need to know why that is so let's start at verse 18 and what Paul's doing here he's just said

2:07.0

that we will be glorified with Christ provided we suffer with Him.

2:15.0

So if you bail out on Christ because of suffering,

2:18.5

you won't be glorified with Him.

2:21.4

You see then in verse 17. We will be heirs with him, provided we suffer with him in order that

2:27.8

we may be glorified with him. And what he's doing now in 18 to 25 is to encourage us that it's worth it, not to let suffering

2:40.5

drive you away from Christ. So how does he do that? For I consider that the

2:47.6

sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.

2:55.0

Verse 19.
