Werta and we're going to pick up today where we left off last time with Dr. Erwin

Lutzer. He was sharing with Focus president Jim Daly the story in the New Testament

a Gentile woman had a daughter who was sick and she came to Jesus imploring him

for help here's the continuation of that story.

The Bible says Jesus answered her not a word. Well how do you like that? Not only that, the disciples said send her away because she is shouting

after us. Jim, you'd be surprised at the number of people who turn away from Jesus because of his disciples.

But she doesn't take that.

She continues on and then Jesus said, I was just sent to the house of Israel only. And she, of course, does not stop even though Jesus

came to the Jews and the Jews were to evangelize the world. and then here's the biggie.

Jesus says to her, it is not right to take the food that belongs to the children and feed it to dogs.

Did you know that there are some people who believe that Jesus is a racist because of that statement?

But he isn't for two reasons, number one. he didn't use the word scavenger for dog he used

puppies house pets but furthermore the reason he went there is because of her.

He was testing her faith.

And finally she says this, and this ought to bring tears to all of our eyes,

it often has to mine. Yes, Lord, but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from

the master's table.

What she is saying is this,

I do not want a single crumb that belongs to the children.

May they be fully fed, but maybe there are some crumbs that they will not miss.
