First Timothy, chapter 2, verses 1 through 4.

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings

be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions,

that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good,

and it is pleasing in the side of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Oh, that's so good and so straightforward.

This is God calling us in His Word to pray and intercede and give thanks for all people,

meaning all kinds of people.

And you just think about even that perspective on your life today or tomorrow if you're

listening to this at night.

So what would it look like just to make an intentional effort today to pray for everybody you interact with or everybody you see around you, just to make a very

intentional effort to pray for all people in your life today. What a great way to spend the day.

So I want to encourage you to do that. And then, 1st Timothy 2 specifies pray for kings and all who are in high

positions. So we should specifically and intentionally be praying for leaders in government.

That we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. So it's interesting.

We pray for leaders in high positions in ways

that lead to good for us and glory to God. And this is good. It's pleasing in the side of God our

Savior. I love this because we get the same phrase again, who desires all people to be saved.

God desires every single person you're praying for to experience his love, his salvation,

to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

So pray for them in light of God's love for them, for every person around you and specifically
