Summary

As you know, we’re praying the greatest commandment over our kids this month—that they will love God with their heart, soul, mind, and strength.

As we pray for our kids to love God with all of their minds this week, we’re reminded that our mind is made up of our thoughts. In order to love God with all of our minds, we have to think about what fills our minds and how it impacts the way we love God.

Our thoughts are significant because they have the potential to grow our love for God or distract and pull us away from a relationship with him and his great plans for our life. The Enemy loves to get ahold of our thoughts and make us question God’s goodness and protection in our lives.

For our kids to love God with all of their minds, we’re praying that they “take captive” all the thoughts that are destructive, not instructive. We’re also praying about what’s going into their minds and how that’s fueling (or lessening) their love for God.

Let’s start this week together by praying over our kids’ minds and all that they will think about today and every day.

I am so glad you're with us today.

We are praying this week that our kids are

0:20.9

marked by our mind. And that sounds strange. But if you've been listening, you know that we are

0:26.2

praying Mark 1230 right now over our kids. Let the Lord your God with all your heart,

0:31.5

with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength, which is obviously the greatest

0:36.7

commandment. Jesus gave that,

0:38.3

and it's a reference to the shama. And so each week we've been praying that. Heart was the first

0:43.1

week. And when we talk about our heart, we're talking about what we are, which is revealed oftentimes

0:48.8

by how we spend our days. That's what we are. And then we talked about our soul last week,

0:53.7

and that's who we are at our very core, what fills our are. And then we talked about our soul last week, and that's who we are at our very

0:55.3

core, what fills our soul. And then this week, we are focusing on our mind, which is the why we are

1:02.0

who we are. And so as we consider our minds, we've got to go to our thoughts because our mind

1:07.2

is comprised of our thoughts and our thoughts impact our actions. And so it all kind of

1:12.4

interplays. And I think this is my favorite week of our study because I love how practical it is to

1:18.1

pray over our thoughts and our kids' thoughts and what fills their minds. And I read a study

1:23.7

somewhere that said we have over 40,000 thoughts every day. 40,000 thoughts. And that almost seems

1:29.9

low to me. I don't know about you, but even last night, I woke up several times the night with my

1:34.7

ridiculous dog. And I would lay back down in bed after taking the dog out. And I would be like,
