It's one thing to believe God is enough when life is calm, but in real suffering, when everything's falling apart,

Chapter 8 is tonight's focus, the pleasure of God and the prayers of the upright.

I raised the question right off the bat, why I've

waited so long in the book to raise the question of God's pleasure in us and in the responses

that we have, since this is so utterly crucial for a personal relationship. I don't know how you

feel about this,

but it seems like there's one of the things

that distinguishes brands of Christianity,

say the Roman Catholic brand and the Lutheran brand,

let's just take those two, is the focus on a justification by faith,

which I'm going to be talking about Sunday, that is God's, in spite of our wickedness,

according us, his righteousness, and accepting us for Christ's sake.

And the Catholic focus is not so much on imputed righteousness as it is on the work of the

spirit for a kind of instilled righteousness and a lot of mysticism and
