Storms can do that.

We realize our human limitations,

and hopefully in the storm we acknowledge God's limitless power.

We see the fear in the unbelieving sailors.

Don't miss that.

The ones who are fearful are the sailors.

We see them first in verse 5,

fearing for their lives.

We see them again, verse 10, the sailors are terrified.

When they heard from Jonah that he's a Hebrew who worshiped the Lord, the God of the heaven and the seas,

he made the sea and the land, and they wonder, why on earth then are you running

from him?
