| 1:09.6 | the context, of course, is if you were with us last week, you know that we looked at the story of the lame man that Peter and John had healed, and then they gave this great sermon and more people were added to the kingdom. And so chapter four is this response of the Jewish leaders to that, where they capture Peter and John and they're |
| 1:28.3 | beginning to question them on what they're doing, and then even some persecution that they |
| 1:33.3 | bring upon them in the midst of this. And so with that as the backdrop, I just a few things for us to |
| 1:39.0 | look at. One, I love that they ask the question of Peter and John, by what power or by what name did you do this? |
| 1:45.9 | And so as I thought about this, I just thought about our marker of being a gospel-saturated church. |
| 1:51.0 | And so our prayer, my prayer for us as a church, is that everything that we do to push back the darkness in this world, the good works that we might do that the Lord has called us to, |
| 2:02.0 | that we would have the opportunity to faithfully proclaim that the reason for those good works |
| 2:07.6 | is the name of Jesus and the gospel of Jesus. We see Peter and John just clearly articulate once |
| 2:14.4 | again the hope that we have in Christ and end their little mini sermon there |
| 2:18.6 | with these words that are familiar probably to most of us where Peter just says there is no other |
