Would you turn with me, please, to James Chapter 5 this morning?

We've been talking about prayer principles.

Prayer principles.

And this is some direction that the Lord has given us on taking the next steps and the growth and development of the church.

He dealt with us two areas, you know, the body of Christ is compared to a natural physical body,

isn't it? Jesus is the head. We're all the body. Well, the church, local church, is a local body.

Operates on the same principles.

Well, the body requires certain things to function normally and to be healthy.

Minerals and vitamins and proteins and carbohydrates and et cetera, et cetera.

And the local church body has to have proper nutrition or else why it becomes unhealthy,

becomes ill, deficient, anemic, weak.

And so that's why as a church and as a pastor, the pastor's not supposed to just preach on one

subject all the time.

Did you hear me?

Sometimes you hear people say, well, the Lord's called us to be a healing church.

And so that's all they preach on is healing.

Well, no.

We're to have healing in the church.

But I'm understanding if all you eat are peas and you never eat anything else except peas,

you could wind up not only bored but deficient, right?

That we're supposed to have some variety. And if you're healthy,

your physical appetites are an indicator of maybe something that you lack. You've heard a little children sometimes, you know, chewing rubber off of a bicycle pedal or wanting to eat dirt.
