Hello, my friends and welcome. It is Friday, so that means it's time for our

pray together episode. I'm glad you're with me. We have a number of requests

we'll be praying for today from all around the globe, and I'm excited that we

can lift these to the heavenly Father, to the one who is able to do exceedingly

abundantly beyond all we ask or imagine according to our faith. And so we are

going to lift these things to the Lord in just a moment. I want to remind you if

you need to pause these episodes and come back to them later and continue

praying at another time. Please feel free to do that. Don't let the length of

time that these episodes may become to be a detriment to you praying or an obstacle.

I want to encourage you just to come back to it and devote yourself to prayer

what James the brother of Jesus says in his letter to believers like you and me

about the issue of prayer. In James 517 he reminds us of the Old Testament

figure Elijah. He says Elijah was a man with a nature just like ours. Some

versions say a man just like us and he prayed fervently that it might not

rain and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. Then he

prayed again and heaven gave rain and the earth boards fruit. James gives us this

example to remind us that prayer is powerful and then we have a God who answers

prayer and it doesn't take a special person to pray. We simply need to rely on
