I wanted to talk about this today so that we have plenty of time to pray for our astronauts.

I want to talk about Artemis. 8.7 p.m. Eastern off the coast of San Diego, the capsule they've been living in is the size of two minivans. Four people, 10 days, it's tight. But apparently it's twice as big as the

Apollo capsule is worse. So this is quite roomy compared to that. This capsule tonight

is going to be coming in at 25,000 miles per hour,

and it's going to reach a temperature of 5,000 degrees Fahrenheit. That's half the temperature of the

surface of the sun. I read that I had to check that out three times to make sure that's true.

And indeed, the temperature of the surface of the sun is 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit.

The outside of this capsule coming into Earth is going to be 5,000 degrees.

It's made from this material called Avcote, made in New Orleans.

What in the world?

And it's going to be at that temperature for five minutes.

And it's going to be at a comparatively cool 3,000 degrees for 20 minutes.

Imagine being inside of this capsule where it's 110.

So like pretty hot still, right?

And by the way, when they land, the idea is that they can stand there for two hours before

the Navy can get to them.

Like if they land within the zone that they want to, the Navy can be there within two hours.

It's a long time to be at 110 degrees.
