Representative Primmilla Jayapol of Washington State is the co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

At the beginning of last year she introduced the most comprehensive Medicare for

all bill in history. She talks about that, the 2020 race, her Bernie endorsement, the controversy around quote-on-quote Bernie Bro's online.

Seattle area and is the first Indian American woman to serve in Congress.

That is right. And she has been called a rising star in

the Democratic Party by both Nancy Pelosi and Bernie Sanders. We have a unity

candidate here. Prior to her election, to Congress she was an advocate for

immigrant rights and racial justice in Congress

she has also been an outspoken later on college access health care climate
