The last five Psalms, Psalm 146 through Psalm 150, each begin the exact same way.

Praise ye the Lord.

As we enter the season of Thanksgiving and praise, Scott is walking us through this crescendo of praise, a study he is calling

the Hallelujah Chorus. In our busy lives, we must make time to praise the Lord not only for what

he's given us, but praise the Lord for who he is. And when our heart is filled with praise, we are ready for worship.

I have personally learned that when I least feel like singing, I most need to.

When I really don't feel like praising God, when thanks is not the first

thing on my mind or on my lips, that is the very moment where I must choose by faith to praise

the Lord. I say again that praise is perhaps the ultimate expression of faith. And this is the point I want to make today.

I really believe that praise, believing God enough to give him thanks

and to trust him with a grateful heart is the secret to staying victorious in the midst of

the battles of life.

Look, we're all in a battle.

Every one of us, we're in the

fight of our lives and the fight for our life, but you have to learn to praise God even in the

midst of that. Today, I want to read all of Psalm 146. It's what we've been studying all week long.

We've come to the last day in this Psalm. It's the first Psalm of the Hallelujah Chorus, and I want to read all 10

verses and then make a few observations today and applications to all of our lives. The psalmist writes,

in Psalm 146, praise you the Lord. Praise the Lord, oh my soul. While I live, will I praise the Lord.

I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being. Put not your trust in princes,

nor in the son of man in whom there is no help. His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth,
