All right, George Kirby has been really disappointing.

Four innings, four runs, nine hits, one walk, and five strikeouts.

Yeah, this is a case where a guy has been singled out, but if is going to lower his 9.5

hip or 9, it means he's going to need more whiffs, and the sweeper is still not just consistently

going down and glove side as it should.

It's a perfect example of a guy who has good control and not good command.

So, George Kirby, treat him like a holly.

He still should be beneficial for you.

I don't think it's going to be a 4-4 ERA and a 128 whip.

Things should improve a bit, but for him to take the next step that we really think he should,

it's going to require that sweeper being consistent to right-handers and really nailing the

Blake's Nell blueprint against left-handers as well. He has that sub-6% walk rate. He should not

be allowing a 9-10 hip-or-9. That means the whip will come down, which means the area will come down just on its own.

And then you throw in the fact that he is a 19.8% strikeout right.

Yes, I'm using the decimal because it's just that bad.

And that should rise over time as well.
