Griffin Jacks is now a starter for the raise and he finally went over 60 pitches, 66 against the Jays on Wednesday, five innings, zero and runs for its four walks and one strikeout. And how am I supposed to butter my bread with this?

You might see that and go, well, all right, this is a failed reliever converting to starter.

Don't be so hasty.

66% strikes on his sweeper, which is filthy.

Down and away to right handers, negative 13 inches of sweep at 88, 89 is just, mm-mm.

That's the good stuff, right?

Think of it like a George Kirby sweeper.

And he's still holding that 96 mile per hour of velocity throughout the game, got to the

sixth inning, rather the fifth inning, I should say, around like 60 pitches.

And that's when we started to see like 94 to

96, but that's still really good, and not the 95, 97. And sure, as he goes further into the game,

it goes maybe 75 and 80 pitches that might settle in around 95 for the start. We will take that

all day. It is an elite shape of a four seamer very flat and very very good vert on it as well.

Now Griffin Jacks obviously needs to command better. This was not a fun start to watch against

right handers. He just could not locate his fastballs at all. The only thing that was working was a

sweeper there. And he threw a lot of strikes of the plate to lefties and that was fine.

And the stuff is really good.

The cutter at 93 also should make for a good attack against left-handers of the four seamers and

cutters. It's kind of like Jurassicismus in a little bit here. The sinker is not quite landing where we

wanted to. Doesn't have a ton of movement. That's okay. Just think of this as Griffin Jacks being a solid
