My name is Nick Pollock, and today we're going to talk about the St. Louis Cardinals.

And this is an interesting rotation. I think a lot of Cardinals fans, when they made all of these

signings, back in, I want to say like November, right out of the gate. It was one after the other.

And they thought, okay, I guess this is fine. Maybe this is

fine. And I will say the Sunny Gray signing, I think, is great. I think that Sunny Gray has a super

high floor. What he does is very unique in the sense that, well, he does have two very distinctively

different approaches versus

left-handers and right-handers, which is something that I've been really understanding more and

more throughout this off-season. I embraced it last year. I've been racing it now more than ever.

And really, Sunny Gray is the perfect example of this. So what he does against left handers, for example,

is he throws this four seamer that has cut action to it and really think of it like a cutter,

so much glove side. And then he pairs that with his curable inside the zone for strikes,

and then a slider that has both horizontal and vertical depth.

He uses that in two strike counts to go underneath bats.

This is how he gets his outs.

He sometimes does surprise with front hip sinkers is the only time he really uses singers in this way.

But it's really those three pitches of that. Four seamer inside the curveball over the plate for strikes and then that slider underneath

And that's great. It works. He's really good at commanding that and then for right handers

He saves that slider once again which is by far in a way his best pitch. It is such a vicious

Amazing slider. It's not a vicious, amazing slider.

It's not even, some want to say it's a sweeper, but it's just not really just as too much
