My name is Nick Pollock.

Today we're going to talk about the Chicago Cubs as I continue talking about all 30 pitching rotations for 2023. If you haven't con on this, go check back at all the other plus pitch podcasts. I've been going through many other teams. And today, of course, we got the Chicago Cubs. Keep in mind, I'm recording this to the end of November and in early December. That

means that any trades, transactions, free agents, injuries, all that kind of stuff I don't know

about. So I'm just looking at the current state of the Cubs and what it looks like and the player

analysis all still applies. So Marcus Truman, 138 innings of 350 ERA, 115 whip, 21% strikeout rate and a 6% walk rate in 2020.

He is Marcus Truman. And what's really funny is that his FIP in 2021 was 350 and he matched it as his ERA in 2022.

And what was his whip? Both years were 115. He is somehow figuring out how to be exactly him.

So do you want this? I mean, I guess you do. It does seem like he doesn't go up from here.

And Nick, come on. He just did the same thing two years in a row. Yes, I get it. But I don't know.

I feel like he can only go down. So he's essentially a

Toby. Do you want a Toby on your team? By all means, go after Marcus Stroman. But there's

nothing new about this. The sinker is pretty much the same. He's tinkered a little bit with
