recently graduated from the University of Texas. In today's Mighty, Emma responds

to the radical right Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v Wade and its

profound disastrous consequences.

Hi, my name is Emma Silverman, and I am a recent graduate from the University

of Texas at Austin, and I am heartbroken.

Angry.

Livid.

Heartbroken for the women of this country. Angry at the Supreme Court

justices who overturned Roe v Wade. And livid. But the women of our generation

now have less rights than a firearm. And you know what I used to think that

this decision was solely based on politics and religion. And don't get me wrong.

That is a big part of it. A huge part of it. But this decision was also fueled

by something else. Hate and power. Because in states like Texas where there's

no exception for rape or incest, women of all ages who are raped are going to have

to carry a baby to term because those justices chose hate and power. That 13

14 year old girl who was taken advantage of by a family member, she's going to
