As we read the gospel records, we read eyewitness accounts of the life and ministry of the Lord Jesus.

In a sense, the gospels are just the beginning of Christ's work. The adventure continues in the

Book of Acts. In this study with

Scott Pauli, we consider the continuing work of Christ through the Holy Spirit, who works

through the apostles in the New Testament Church. Now, let's get in on the adventure.

There are names in history that are famous.

There are names in history that are notorious.

Every name carries with it some type of reputation,

some type of idea behind it,

of a life that has lived and invested in something.

But there's only one name, only one name that truly has power to change a person's life and eternal destiny.

And that, my friend, is the name of Jesus Christ.

We're returning today to this grand adventure that is continuing in the book of Acts.

We've been studying in Acts chapter 3, the amazing miracle of Peter and John going up to the temple at the hour of prayer,

and the lame man, a man who'd been lying there for all those years, was gloriously, wondrously,

instantaneously healed. Now, you know that's going to create a stir. You know that's going to

make people wonder and some people are excited about it. The religious leaders, not so excited about it.

But in the midst of all of that buzz going on in Jerusalem near the temple, we read in Acts

chapter 3 verse number 11. As the lame man,

which was healed, held Peter and John. All the people ran together under them in the porch

that is called Solomon's greatly wondering. So get the picture in your mind. Try to see the scene,

if you can. This man is so elated, so thrilled, he's holding on to Peter, holding on to John.
