Summary

In a quiet suburban neighborhood, the lives of thirty-one year old Marie Varsos and her sixty-year-old Mother, Marie Sisco were abruptly cut short on April 12, 2021 in a heinous act of domestic violence. The perpetrator was Shaun Varsos, Marie’s estranged husband. After committing the brutal murders, he committed suicide leaving behind a shocked community and a trail of heartbreak in it’s wake. Today we are discussing the events that led up to the tragedy and the red flags and blatant failures by the criminal justice system that foretold this tragedy. Chandler Halderson was an impressive and accomplished young man. By the age of 23, he was part of a Police scuba-diving and recovery team, he was about to graduate from college, he had a great job lined up with SpaceX in Florida and he held several academic certificates in engineering. All of that changed on July 7th, 2021 when he walked into a police station to report his parents, Bart and Krista Halderson as missing.
