Here is a stark statistic just released by researchers at Columbia University and the Anti-Poverty Organization, Robin Hood.

More New Yorkers are living in poverty today than at any point in the last decade.

Again, that's according to a new analysis from the Anti-Poverty Organization, Robin Hood, as well as Columbia University.

Robin Hood has been tracking economic hardship in New York City since 2012.

Their latest report finds that, as of 2024, 26% of New Yorkers, roughly 2.2 million people,

including about 450,000 children, were living in poverty.

And this data, more than a quarter of the city's residents under the poverty line,

predates the Trump administration sweeping cuts to the federal safety net, which have just started
