Summary

The Milwaukee Bucks did the opposite of what they did last year and chose to lose and avoid an opponent. The rest of the night goes chalk, but we look at all the incentives and permutations that made it that way. The Mavs had about a 10-minute window to take out their starters but Luka got hurt before they did. Plus recapping the lottery, and looking at the key injuries that may shape the playoffs. The play-in field is set, so we look at Tuesday’s games between Cleveland and Brooklyn in the East and the LA Clippers and Minnesota in the West. How will these coaches react in a one-game scenario with so much on the line?

So the playoff feels one through six are set the play ends seven through ten are set and we'll talk about it

0:09.3

none of the games are really that interesting though unfortunately with really the machinations of it all are probably the most interesting aspect but

0:17.7

essentially we didn't get one real game all day which was really a massive disappointment once the box decided that they didn't want to win against Cleveland

0:28.7

there really wasn't anything else that was going to be a real game kudos to Houston and Indiana to tanking teams that at least put in a credible showing but ended up losing none

0:38.2

the less to give us at least some modicum of entertainment but it's really a shame like this should be an awesome day of the year we didn't even get Danny the double tank games

0:47.4

either that can at least give you some unintentional entertainment right thinking back to that was that like four years ago that you and I actually did a live show

0:55.2

of a double tank game which was delirious fun oh there's a couple it was it was like nicks pistons or Errol and like Orlando I think was in

1:05.0

Vod I can't remember what year that was but and obviously last year the atoru game was a classic that will be talked about for years to come here in these parts but

1:15.2

yeah so instead we can we can run through and unfortunately we'll get to the the injury part of it like I would say the most significant part of this other than kind of figuring out the brackets and I would argue even more

1:25.2

significant that that is the prominent injury that happened we don't know all the details on it but that's Luca don't you just left calf strain but I think the place to go is just kind of

1:33.2

to walk through well where are things now and we can begin in the eastern conference because those games resolved earlier in the day my

1:40.6

Emmy was already locked in at the one seed and then Toronto and Chicago was the five and six respectively so the movement was two through four and then seven through ten you brought up the

1:52.6

bucks sitting their players against the calves and that had two big effects one was in the two through four but then in the seven through ten what that did is it meant Brooklyn was playing Indiana who fought

2:02.6

gamely but didn't didn't quite have the horses so then once Cleveland looked it looked I mean they were up 20 pretty damn early in that game then we knew the seven eight was going to be Brooklyn hosting Cleveland and then

2:16.6

well we didn't yet because Brooklyn actually had to beat Indiana as well which they they took several leads Indiana would come back with it for the even

2:25.6

did it 91 at one point in the fourth and Brooklyn had so many turnovers TJ McConnell has actually back we talked about that some already in the earlier recorded seven eight outlook so I think

2:40.6

we are already seven is Brooklyn eight is Cleveland nine is Atlanta tennis Charlotte what I want to talk about here is at the top though first before

2:48.6

anything you mentioned the bucks didn't try they could have been the two see they controlled their own destiny they did not make anyone active except for Drew

2:56.6

Holliday who played six seconds and then immediately picked a foul yeah what not I can explain the reason for that the reason was that

3:03.6

you holiday had the only incentive that was still to be determined regular season contract bonus that was to be that was

3:12.6

to be determined on the last day of the year and Bobby marks had this drew holiday had a bonus for $306,000 if he played in 67 games and had at least 3.15

3:24.6

rebounds per game holiday had to appear in this is 67th game and was so far above the average rebounds that getting zero did matter so everyone
