Hello and I'm Jenny Rentis and I'm Connor O'Rourke. And before we dive into this week's games, we need to talk a little bit about how the schedule was interrupted in week 15 because of the COVID surge in the league, much like many other parts of the nation. I'm in New York City I see

the lines for the COVID testing vans wrapping around the block so the

omerkron variant has hit parts of the country very hard and also the NFL very hard Connor.

The league postponed three games moving Raiders Browns to Monday,

Washington Eagles and Seahawks Rams to Tuesday.

So we have our first postponements, our first weird COVID week schedule for the 2021 season.

Also, the League and the Players Union negotiated updates

two protocols for the rest of the season, adjusting the testing cadence.

And the takeaway from that is that vaccinated players and team employees who were

previously required to be tested every week will now only be tested when they

show symptoms or there will also be targeted testing for position groups.

Ultimately the amount of testing for vaccinated asymptomatic people will be reduced.

So kind of a weird response, I would say, to the recent outbreak with more than 100 players testing

positive Connor. Yeah it's like we want to come up with we want to find less of

this is basically like is basically the solution and I saw some interesting

before they canceled you know some interesting kind of opinions on some stuff I read

Mike Florio pro football talks so they should just let asymptomatic players play and I was

kind of like why aren't we just backing up here and just pushing the game up two

days like why why is the immediate assumption that like the problem is the

asymptomatic players you know and and I just

don't understand why this this wasn't the job difficulty to reach this this process

and I understand that you know the Seattle, there are some teams who are upset about this because they're going to now, you know, activate a short week and be inconvenienced in that way.
