0:37.9	This is Dr. Mike, coming to you from nationwide children's hospital.
0:41.8	We're in Columbus, Ohio.

0:48.7	We're calling this one postpartum depression in dads.
0:53.3	I want to welcome all of you to the program. So we have two
0:56.9	important dates coming up, and they are particularly important if you are a father, or if you
1:02.6	have a father. This Sunday, June 20th, is Father's Day, and next Monday, June 21st, is International
1:10.5	Father's Mental Health Day.
1:13.0	And so this seemed like a good week to turn the spotlight on fathers and consider a topic that impacts their mental health.
1:21.1	Now, the other part of this episode's title is Postpartum Depression.
1:26.6	And when you hear these words, the next thing that probably
1:29.7	comes to your mind is moms, because we often hear about mothers suffering from postpartum
1:35.6	depression. But did you know that fathers also suffer from postpartum depression and anxiety?
1:43.6	In fact, one out of every four fathers,
1:47.0	so 25% suffer some degree of depression or anxiety during the first year of their baby's life.
1:55.3	And it doesn't matter if that baby is a first child or an additional brother or sister in the home.
