But Mike Ryan reminded me during the break and reminded Greg Cody, and then Greg Cody started arguing with me about what Mike Ryan had said, in which he said, hey, you never got to Ruben Bain and what Greg

Cody thought about Ruben Bain after Greg Cody said to you. Ruben Bain has not been talked about

until I've talked about Ruben Bain. Yeah, that's the columnist's ego.

I think anybody who writes opinion columns for a living is going to have that feeling.

When that story first broke, I knew it was not going to have much leg to it, and I knew for several reasons. And I knew that this was not going to affect

his draft position in the least. And so as if to prove that, NFL.com comes out with their

latest mock draft after this story broke. And they have Kansas City in a slight trade up to six,

taking Ruben Bain Jr. at number six.

I think he might last until the dolphins pick at 11, but the idea that he's going to free fall

in the first round, I think is ridiculous, and the reasons are the story is a couple of years old.

The family of the woman who died in that accident has basically said we wish Ruben Bain all the best. And it was an accident. He was not, he was charged and then the charge was dropped.

Evidently, he was not drinking or smoking and was not even given a DUI. So I think for those reasons,

it's not going to affect the draft. He was cited, not charged, and the citation went away.

There were some reports out there that he wasn't even going over the speed limit. There was

not a field sobriety administered at 4 a.m., many, including myself,

think that it's weird. The police officers on the scene didn't think that it required one.

They scope the lay of the land there. Unfortunately, for Rubin, this would, I think they all knew

this would come to light during the NFL draft process, but for

it to come out the way that it did made it seem like, is this a move?
