A tough one.

Why did that one bad?

A game that featured two teams that played the game like it was a playoff game. The crowd had a

playoff atmosphere. I thought the quality of the basketball for the most part was high level,

especially in the first quarter. Clearly on the offensive end for both teams, to be honest, things got pretty hairy there for

quarters two through four.

But this was a highly, for me, highly entertaining basketball game that ended up being a very frustrating game

to watch if you are a fan of the New York Knicks who, listen, played a competitive

basketball game and really, I thought, met the moment in terms of the energy, the competitiveness that was

required to compete in a game like this. But in the end, and in the fourth quarter specifically,

they got lost and they got lost because they didn't have their captain steering them in the right direction.

As we've seen time and time again, Jalen Brunson bring this team, drag them sometimes over the finish line in these close games time after time.

The fact that he wasn't out there was felt, I think, for the first time in the most visceral, real sense.

The last five, six minutes of this game, this Knicks offense was meandering.

They were without purpose.
