Dante, what a night, your first 40-point game. You set a new record for threes made in a game here with this Knicks franchise. I mean, how did that feel for you?

It's fun. I mean, doing it in front of the best fans in the world. It doesn't get any better than this.

You're getting lots of love for sure, too. And one of the things that was so special about it was watching the way that

your teammates were feeding you tonight how would you describe the unselfishness clearly they wanted

to see you get this record to um i mean if jalen passed the ball more i could have probably 15 of them

tonight but no everybody was unselfish everybody was playing for one another and it was a fun game to be a part of

you've said that these records mean something to you because you love New York. You want to settle down and play here for a long time. What is it that you love about this organization? I mean, that's the difference.

I mean, look, there were nights where J.R.

would look like the best offensive player on the floor regardless of who else was out there. Like, he could do a lot of special things. He also did

a lot of really dumb things. And there were nights where, let me say this, I think the variance was a

lot higher with JR.

When JR was at his worst, and like his sixth man of the year campaign, we didn't see many of these games.

The following year, we saw a goodly amount of them.

And then it got to a point where Phil Jackson attached Imman Shumpert to just get rid of J.R. Smith's contract. You know? And then, but Cleveland, meanwhile, I was like, wait a minute. We're getting the famous LeBron quote about like, because they told him like, yeah, we're getting Amman Shumperd. But we, you know, we had to take J.R. and Lebron's response was something to the effect of like whoa we had jr smith because when he's going right it's great you know um

so yeah the it's it's greater variance because the floor which that's the thing with Dante, like, yeah, Dante might have an off shooting night.

He's had off shooting nights this year.
