Summary

They couldn't get it done in regulation, meaning despite beating the Boston Bruins for the frst time this season, a completion of the back-to-back, home-and-home sweep on Tuesday night will only result in the Philadelphia Flyers still trailing the B's by a point in the East division standings for the last playoff spot. But, the orange and black did come back from a 2-1 third period deficit to tie the game on a Sean Couturier power play goal, and then win it in overtime when Travis Sanheim blocked an ill-advised Patrice Bergeron shot from high in the zone then took it the other way for the OT winner, thanks to an assist from Bergeron blowing a tire. The Flyers still have a lot to prove before anyone is willing to call them a deserving playoff team, or deadline buyers, but at least for one night they showed us a little something against a team not named the Buffalo Sabres. Hey, I guess not a bad time to get your first win against the Boston Bruins of the season, but of course, it goes to overtime so the Bruins get a point and remain, what, three points ahead of the Flyers and the standings for that final playoff spot in the East Division. Kind of a boring game, poorly officiated game.

Flyers did not seem to do a whole lot through the first two periods, but they showed a little

1:34.9

something, getting it tied up. Katori A cashes in on that power play. The power play had just

been, ugh, up until that point. And hey, it's always fun when Brad Marchand is pissed off at the end of a Flyers Bruins game.

1:48.9

So a game that I didn't have that much emotion about, honestly seeing Patrice Bergeron fall on his ass after making a very odd decision to rip that shot from where he was high in the zone.

Sandheim blocks it.
