And so how would you like to do this?

Well, why don't you tell our audience just a little bit about your background,

what you do on a day-to-day basis? Yeah, so I am a practicing physician scientist who wears a few hats.

I am the director of the Cancer Center of Brown University.

I'm an associate dean at the medical school.

I chair a global consortium in precision oncology called the Wind Consortium.

You know, there are two things about me and my career.

There's a gene named after me, Waf1, discovered in the early 90s when I was at Johns Hopkins. Nobody cared what you

called a gene in the early 90s. This one turned out to be important. It's how cells

stop dividing when stressed or treated with radiation or chemotherapy. And the other thing that I focused on for most of my independent academic

career has been the innate immune system and its connections to tumor suppressor genes. So in the
