| 0:00.0 | How do you ever been out there? Welcome to our post theoryathon episode. This is a bit of a bonus episode because obviously we just do not have the stuff from theoryathon edited a couple of things first off. Thank you to everyone who hung out with us on Saturday. We really really appreciate it. |
| 0:21.0 | That was an absolute blast and kind of the first first DNR gathering we've really had since COVID started like officially. |
| 0:30.0 | It looked like everyone had a good time. There were four really good episodes in it. I think. |
| 0:36.0 | And we made it through a live. So all that prep seemed to be worth it. If you if you hear me sniffling and stuff. |
| 0:45.0 | It's because everyone in the house is sick. We managed to get through theoryathon and I think our bodies just gave out. So that's the reason you're getting this bonus episode a little late. |
| 0:56.0 | Obviously this is not one of our groups. This is a Patreon group three, the monster mash group. They are out hunting a monster basically every time we sit down and it's based on a famous movie monster. |
| 1:10.0 | And they basically have to figure out what it is that they're hunting. So we're going to catch you up a little bit on what happened. They basically took a job to go investigate these caves and kill a monster that's been kind of devouring people beyond that. |
| 1:29.0 | Please. There is a fantastic kickstarter. A lot of you checked out. I recommended it last week. |
| 1:36.0 | Eyes and doors vault of tragic treasure. I back this kickstarter personally. I think you guys should too. There's a link right at the bottom. |
| 1:46.0 | Right in the description here right under this episode. And that'll take you to it. It is a 300 page book just full of new items and a little bit of lore for your campaign. Plus on top of that, you get another 200 page book that is an adventure set in the elemental plane. |
| 2:07.0 | You even get seven free downloadable printable minis. You get the STL files. When you back the thing. It's a really good deal. And honestly, I've looked at the content they've made before. I've spoken with the people. They're really nice. And honestly, it's just a cool way to flesh out your campaign and get a bunch of new stuff. |
| 2:30.0 | I'm addicted to getting books on my shelf that is just new stuff. If they ever change away from 5a, I'm so screwed, which of course they're going to so. |
| 2:42.0 | Okay, one more huge thing before we get to today's episode. During theory of thumb, we partnered up with D&D Beyond. Now, obviously 9 out of 10 of you know what D&D Beyond is and know how helpful can be. Maybe you haven't checked in in a while. |
| 2:57.0 | Maybe you didn't know that they are now kind of branching out into setting up encounters and balancing things, having an initiative tracker. You could pretty much run a game of D&D on their site right now. |
| 3:13.0 | So here's what I want you to do. Even if you know what they're offering, even if you haven't checked it out in a while. There's a link right in the description of this episode. |
| 3:23.0 | I want you to go ahead and click that. It will help out the show a ton. You can peruse an awesome website full of great stuff. |
| 3:30.0 | And there are definite benefits to using D&D Beyond over things like a table, over things like having physical books. |
| 3:37.0 | We used it during theory of thumb. It's a quick way to reference rules. Look at gear, have a visual, quick, searchable website where you can stop gameplay for just a moment. |
| 3:50.0 | If you're not sure about a spell, if you're not sure about the bonuses for a specific set of armor or a weapon, boom. |
| 3:57.0 | You check it out. It takes two seconds and it's right there in front of your eyes. It's way faster than looking up in the physical book. Trust me. |
| 4:05.0 | And while tables are fantastic at running the math for everything and keeping things flowing, it's a little cumbersome to kind of look for a rule if you don't know exactly where it is in that module. |
| 4:16.0 | So go check out D&D Beyond. Obviously they've been around for a while. You know what's a good website. It is right at the top of the description. Click that link. |
