How do you ever been out there? Welcome to our post theoryathon episode. This is a bit of a bonus episode because obviously we just do not have the stuff from theoryathon edited a couple of things first off. Thank you to everyone who hung out with us on Saturday. We really really appreciate it.

That was an absolute blast and kind of the first first DNR gathering we've really had since COVID started like officially.

It looked like everyone had a good time. There were four really good episodes in it. I think.

And we made it through a live. So all that prep seemed to be worth it. If you if you hear me sniffling and stuff.

It's because everyone in the house is sick. We managed to get through theoryathon and I think our bodies just gave out. So that's the reason you're getting this bonus episode a little late.

Obviously this is not one of our groups. This is a Patreon group three, the monster mash group. They are out hunting a monster basically every time we sit down and it's based on a famous movie monster.

And they basically have to figure out what it is that they're hunting. So we're going to catch you up a little bit on what happened. They basically took a job to go investigate these caves and kill a monster that's been kind of devouring people beyond that.

You even get seven free downloadable printable minis. You get the STL files. When you back the thing. It's a really good deal. And honestly, I've looked at the content they've made before. I've spoken with the people. They're really nice. And honestly, it's just a cool way to flesh out your campaign and get a bunch of new stuff.

I'm addicted to getting books on my shelf that is just new stuff. If they ever change away from 5a, I'm so screwed, which of course they're going to so.

Okay, one more huge thing before we get to today's episode. During theory of thumb, we partnered up with D&D Beyond. Now, obviously 9 out of 10 of you know what D&D Beyond is and know how helpful can be. Maybe you haven't checked in in a while.

Maybe you didn't know that they are now kind of branching out into setting up encounters and balancing things, having an initiative tracker. You could pretty much run a game of D&D on their site right now.

So here's what I want you to do. Even if you know what they're offering, even if you haven't checked it out in a while. There's a link right in the description of this episode.

I want you to go ahead and click that. It will help out the show a ton. You can peruse an awesome website full of great stuff.

And there are definite benefits to using D&D Beyond over things like a table, over things like having physical books.

We used it during theory of thumb. It's a quick way to reference rules. Look at gear, have a visual, quick, searchable website where you can stop gameplay for just a moment.

If you're not sure about a spell, if you're not sure about the bonuses for a specific set of armor or a weapon, boom.

You check it out. It takes two seconds and it's right there in front of your eyes. It's way faster than looking up in the physical book. Trust me.

And while tables are fantastic at running the math for everything and keeping things flowing, it's a little cumbersome to kind of look for a rule if you don't know exactly where it is in that module.
