The chairman Benny Thompson, we heard from him twice tonight, on video remotely he is out

because of recent COVID diagnosis, Liz Cheney.

Helming the proceedings are hearing from two live witnesses who you see.

One of them leaving the room there, Sarah Matthews, who is a Deputy White House press secretary

and Matthew Pottenger, who is a Deputy National Security Advisor, Marine Veteran.

Hearing from both of them tonight proceedings being led by Congressman Adam Kinzinger,

Republican from Illinois, you see there speaking with Capitol Police Officers and DC Metropolitan

Police Officers, as well as Elaine Luria, both Kinzinger and Luria, U.S. Military Veterans,

which loomed tonight in the atmosphere, I think in an important way, as they repeatedly

described dereliction of duty on the part of President Trump.

We were told that would be the focus of tonight's discussion, we told it would focus mostly

on January 6th and it ended up focusing on both January 6th and importantly on January

7th.

We'll talk about that in just a moment.

But the overall idea tonight being that President Trump got what he wanted on January

6th up to the point where the coup did not work.

And when it did not work, when it was clear that it would not effectuate the outcome that

he was desiring, that is the only time he could be persuaded that it was time for him

to speak and tell them to leave, begrudgingly telling them to leave only and solely and individually

and personally could he persuade it of it then because it wasn't going to work to overthrow
