Liverpool may have beaten Wolverhamhamhamhams 3-1-on-Feld this afternoon,

but their quadruple dream is over after Manchester City Fort back from two goals down

against Astonville at the Etteer to make sure that it is their name on the

Premier League title instead of Liverpool's. In many ways Liverpool should never really have had the opportunity

to fight for the Premier League title on the last day of the season.

They were 14 points behind in the middle of January and slowly but surely forced a

response to take it to within a point on the final day and for quite a while it

looked as though it was going to be Liverpool's day.

Villa raced into a two-go lead at the Etiad and that was a stunning development down the other end of the

M62 but Liverpool needed to keep up

they had ended the bargain if they were to have any chance and they went behind early on through

Pedro Netto.
